Opening in a centuries-old karakami decorative paper printing workshop in Kyoto, the intriguing and illuminating documentary Ripples of Physis explores recurring patterns and spirals throughout art, history, and the environment itself.

From the lively Gion Matsuri festival to quiet tea ceremonies, and from Celtic art through to contemporary fashion, this is a journey through time and across the world. It reflects on the patterns and spirals that recur across continents and through millennia, but also the human desire to find order in nature.
